Als Research Associate Upstream Development (m/w/d) arbeitest du mit uns an den neuesten Prozessentwicklungen und kannst maßgeblich zum Erfolg der Projekte beitragen. Du vertrittst eigenverantwortlich deine Arbeitsbereiche im Team und arbeitest eng mit anderen Abteilungen wie der Molekularbiologie und dem Downstream-Processing zusammen.

Deine Aufgaben und Verantwortung bei AMSilk:

Entwicklung und Optimierung mikrobieller Upstream-Prozesse zur Herstellung von Strukturproteinen
Planung, Durchführung, Dokumentation und Auswertung von wissenschaftlichen Versuchen im Bereich Upstream/Fermentation
Enge Zusammenarbeit mit angrenzenden Arbeitsgruppen (Stamm- und Proteinentwicklung, Downstream)
Präsentation der Ergebnisse in internen Meetings
Vor- und Nachbereitung der Versuchsanlagen (z. B. Bioreaktoren)
Bedienung und Überwachung der Versuchsanlagen
Planung, Inbetriebnahme, Wartung, Qualifizierung und Reparatur von Geräten und Versuchsanlagen
Pflege und Weiterentwicklung der Laborinfrastruktur

Das bringst Du mit:

Erfolgreich abgeschlossenes naturwissenschaftliches Hochschulstudium der Fachrichtungen Biotechnologie, Biochemie, Bioingenieurwesen, Bioverfahrenstechnik, Bioprozesstechnik oder einer vergleichbaren Fachrichtung
Praktische (Hochschul-)Erfahrung im Bereich der mikrobiellen Laborfermentation und der Bioprozessentwicklung
Optional: Erste Erfahrungen im Datamining von biologischen Datensätzen (z. B. Proteom oder Metabolom)
Sehr gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift
Ausgeprägte Team- und Kommunikationsfähigkeit
Hohe Eigenverantwortung
Deine Hands-on-Mentalität, schnelle Auffassungsgabe und dein technisches Verständnis werden dich bei deiner Arbeit unterstützen
Sicherer Umgang mit MS Office

As a Research Associate in Upstream Development (m/f/d), you will collaborate with us on the latest developments in this field and play a key role in the success of these projects. As a member of the team, you will oversee your own experiments and equipment, collaborating closely with other departments such as Downstream Processing and Molecular Biology.

Your responsibility and impact within AMSilk company means to:

Develop and optimise microbial upstream processes for producing structural proteins
Plan, implement and evaluate scientific experiments in the field of upstream/fermentation processes, and document the results
Close cooperation with other departments (strain and protein development, downstream processes, technology transfer, etc.)
Present the results at internal meetings
Prepare and follow up on experimental facilities (e.g. bioreactors)
Operate and monitor experiments (e.g. fermentations)
Plan, commission, maintain, qualify and repair equipment and experimental facilities
Maintain and further develop laboratory infrastructure

Your areas of knowledge and expertise are:

Successfully completed a university degree in biotechnology, biochemistry, bioengineering, bioprocess engineering, bioprocess technology, or a comparable field of study
Practical experience (including university) in microbial fermentation and laboratory-scale bioprocess development
Optional: initial experience in data mining of biological datasets (e.g. proteome or metabolome)
Very good written and spoken German and English skills
Strong teamwork and communication skills
High level of personal responsibility
Your hands-on mentality, quick comprehension and technical understanding will support you in your daily work
Profound MS Office knowledge
