Als Masterand New Technologies / R&D (m/w/d) bist du am Aufbau einer End-to-End-Pipeline zur Herstellung neuartiger Strukturproteine beteiligt und sammelst dabei wichtige Erfahrungen in den Bereichen Upstream Processing (Fermentierung) und Downstream Processing (Proteinreinigung).

Deine Aufgaben und Verantwortung bei AMSilk:

Unterstützung des Teams beim Fermentieren und Aufreinigen von Strukturproteinen
Vorbereitung von Proben für analytische Messungen
Auswertung von Daten zur DNA-Sequenzierung der dritten Generation, zur Proteinreinheit und zur Textilfaseranalytik und Präsentation dieser Daten an das R&D Team
Dokumentation der Laborprozesse und Ergebnisdaten
Pflege und Reinigung das Laborequipments

Das bringst Du mit:

Bachelor-Abschluss (EU-Zertifikat) im Bereich Biotechnologie, Biochemie, Bioingenieurwesen, Verfahrenstechnik, Biologie, Chemie, Chemieingenieurwesen oder ähnliches
Praktische Erfahrung in der Proteinverarbeitung unter Verwendung verschiedener nachgeschalteter Techniken, sowie Erfahrung in der Aufreinigung unlöslicher Proteine sind von Vorteil
Breites theoretisches und praktisches analytisches Hintergrundwissen
Profunde Kenntnisse in MS Office
Bereitschaft, im Raum München zu arbeiten

Of course, this won't happen overnight. It needs talented people like you. If you choose to write your master thesis in our New Technologies (R&D) department, you will be involved in building an end-to-end pipeline to generate novel structural proteins, thereby gaining experience in upstream processing (fermentation) and downstream processing (protein purification).

Your responsibility and impact within AMSilk company means to:

Support the team with cloning, fermentation and purification of structural proteins
Prepare samples for analytical measurement
Evaluate data regarding thirs generation DNA sequencing, protein purity and textile fiber analyticsand present it to the R&D team
Do the documentation of lab processes and resulting data
Be in charge of standard lab-maintenance

Your areas of knowledge and expertise are:

Bachelor's degree (EU certificate) in the field of biotechnology, biochemistry, bioengineering, process engineering, biology, chemistry, chemical engineering or a comparable field
Practical experience in protein processing using diverse downstream techniques is preferred; experience in the purification of insoluble proteins is a plus
Broad theoretical and practical analytical background
Profound knowledge in MS Office
Work experience in the field of industrial biotechnology is a plus
Willingness to work in the Munich area
Conversational German ability
